Barton L. Slavin, Esq., [email] leads a staff and network of experienced attorneys that meets both corporate or personal legal needs.
Barton Slavin won at trial a $1.8 million award as plaintiff in a negligence suit in Manhattan Supreme Court. Read a reproduction of the front page of the NY Law Journal article here.
Mr. Slavin is a cum laude graduate of the University of Buffalo and Brooklyn Law School. He was admitted to the Bar in 1983 and is authorized to practice in New York State Courts, Federal District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the Second Circuit Court of
Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Hon. Joseph Slavin [email] admitted 1952, J.D., and L.L.M. Estate Planning (NYU), is retired from the Supreme Court, Kings County after 20 years of service.
Currently, in addition to work at the Firm, he serves as a Judicial Hearing Officer for the Office of Court Administration of the State of New York and an arbitrator for National Arbitration and Mediation, a nationwide arbitration and mediation service.
He has served as a Referee for the Appellate Division of the State of New York in Attorney Disciplinary Proceedings.

Hon Joseph Slavin
He is or has been a member of the New York State Bar Association, New York State Trial Lawyers Association, The Association of the Bar of the City of New York, New York County Lawyers Association, National Association of Mortgage Brokers and the Defense Research Institute. He has won awards for his Pro-Bono activities from The Brooklyn Bar Association - Volunteer Lawyers Project, Inc.
Since his admission to the Bar, Mr. Slavin has handled many complex litigation matters including real estate breach of contract actions as well as foreclosures, commercial claims and tort actions. The bodily injury claims have involved bicycle accidents, wrongful death, motor vehicle accidents, construction accidents, quadriplegia, paraplegia, significant limb and spinal injuries and industrial
accidents. Justices of the Supreme Court have appointed him to serve as a Court Evaluator in Mental Hygiene Law proceedings. He has also received appointments to serve as a Guardian Ad Litem for infants and incompetents in Estate and Guardianship proceedings as well as serving as a Referee in Foreclosure Sales proceedings.
He served as President of The
Brooklyn Bar Association (June 2006 to June 2007), having served as a Trustee and Executive Board Member for many years. He has been the Chair of the Young Lawyers Committee, Chair of the Membership Committee, and Co-Chair of the Outreach to Orthodox Attorneys Committee. He currently is a member of the
Judiciary Committee, the Supreme Court Committee and several other Committees. He has also served on several Committees of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and been a Board Member of The Brooklyn Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project, Inc. for six years. He has served as a
Member of the Grievance Disciplinary Committee of the 2nd, 11th and 12th Judicial Districts, Second Department, State of New York (years 2008 to 2012). He has been a Speaker lecturing newly admitted Attorneys (years 2006, 2008, 2010) at the request of Hon. A. Gail Prudenti, the Presiding Justice of the Appellate Division, Second Department, State of New York.
He currently serves as a Delegate from the Second District to The House of Delegates of The New York State Bar Association.
He has been a Speaker at Continuing Legal Education seminars of both the Brooklyn Bar Association and The City Bar. He has published legal theory articles in the Brooklyn Barrister. His non-legal activities include his involvement as an Assistant Scout Master with the Boy Scouts and a Supporter of the Girl Scouts. He enjoys camping and long distance bicycling. He provides free legal advice to the cycling community of New York having been a supporter of
Transportation Alternatives for over twenty years. He is a Life Member of
The League of American Wheelmen.

Prior to his service on the Bench, he was a Partner in his firm. The firm concentrated in the representation of lenders in mortgage foreclosure proceedings as well as representing banks, buyers and sellers in real estate and commercial transactions.
